This website is for sure a work in progress...but then aren't we all. 

 

I get asked a lot "What made you decide to write a book?" To tell you the truth, I didn't decide. Dan Moffitt was Sports Editor at the Palm Beach Post.    I served on the County Sports Commission and we met regularly. Frequently Dan wanted to talk more about space than sports. He insisted that I had great stories to tell and should write a memoir.

Months went by and Dan never gave up trying to convince me to get started. He finally recommended that I engage a professional to outline what a memoir might reflect.  I retained Robert Nahas of Writer's Services. He interviewed me and produced an 8-page overview that reflected a sense of the book which I shared with my family.  That was the beginning.  Without that piece, it never would have become the labor of love that it is.

You Don’t Look Like an Astronaut’s Wife is my improbable life journey from small town beginnings in Ohio, through formative years in Florida in the 1960s and 1970s. It's set against the thrilling backdrop of the U.S. Space Program from its early beginnings through Apollo, Shuttle and beyond.

You'll have to read to find out how Mickey Mouse played an important role in both my life and Astronaut Ed Mitchell's, (Apollo 14, the 6th man to walk on the moon).

You'll be introduced to astronauts, Hollywood, TV celebrities, politicians, metaphysical researchers, well known scientists, academic leaders in UFO research (keep an eye out for Uri Gellar!) all who were at our dining room table at one time or another. 

The best part? I want to leave you with a spirit lift from my many authentic, relatable stories that will bring a smile (and maybe an outright laugh). 

My philosophy of "taking the good and leaving the rest" is woven all the way through this book.  Through it all you'll find I've managed to remain grounded, thanks to a strong family foundation, lifelong faith, and irrepressible love of life.
